Diffusers

So I searched around and read about diffusers and what not. But I want to know for all of you diffuser users out there, past or present, what you think after using them a while

1) Is it worth it, either homemade or heba
2) Which one works best. Staws, Sprinkler filters, Heba, Wine Cork
3) How often does it need to be replaced, aka, does the plastic melt or pick up tastes

I have a Hafa, so I'd imagine I could fit any of those in my vase fairly well. Thanks guys for the input

1. I personally think its worth it. I'm very hard of hearing and so I can't hear anything over the bubbling of the hookah. My diffuser cuts the sound in half, so I can actually do something else while I'm smoking, be it watching a movie or having a conversation with someone. Also, I believe the diffuser makes the smoke a bit more mellow.

2. I use straws, but I'd be willing to bet that a Heba works better.

3. The plastic won't melt. When I use straws, I replace them every time I smoke, since part of the straws are in the stem above the waterline, they'll pick flavor of whatever I'm smoking. Since the other type of diffusers would be below the water, I doubt they'd need to be replaced as often.

Herba works great, It's my personal favorite, it does keep it much more quiet and keeps the coals from rattling around on top.

not worth the money IMO but check under the reviews section and see what people have to say about them

i've used straws and the heba's.. they both work great for reducing noise from the hookah. that is about all they do:)

Try a DIY one first and if you notice a difference and like it get the proper thing. You can use a ping pong ball with a a few holes- thats just one idea

I like to hear music when I smoke, so often I cut 4 plastic straws (the elbow bending kind), stick them in the shaft .Lots of little bubbles, quiet and quick.
